Question Metadata plugin set custom fields
How do i set custom fields/columns data with the metadata plugin?

Just out of curiosity: is there any technical reason why calibre can't access custom fields? This would be so useful for metadata plugins!

It's technically possible, of course, but it would require breaking the API and various headaches with merging metadata results and lots of work in for example excluding of metadata fields which is currently a global setting and would need to become a per library setting and so on. It's never been worth the effort for me.

Could you point me to where the plugins metadata gets applied (merged) to the book metadata?
